Our Philosophy For All Our Classes...

As stated in the section about our school, we here at Gan Rina believe that it is our responsibility to help lay the foundation for our students continued education. We believe that in order to do that it is important to educate the whole child, addressing their cognitive, emotional, and physical selves.

We believe that the key to being a successful learner is in being a happy and confident one. We encourage our students to explore new information, challenge themselves, and develop an independent sense of self. In recent years, we have added new facets to our curriculum, such as our Hebrew Immersion program and our Healthy Habits project to help us partner with parents in developing their children’s confidence in themselves as learners, as students, as friends, and as capable, contributing members of our ever growing community.

A recent comprehensive study has demonstrated that children who attended a strong preschool program had a 60% higher graduation rate than children who attended a poor preschool program or no preschool program at all. This finding proved to us here at Gan Rina something that we already knew, that there is tremendous long-term value in attending a great preschool program!

1-2 Year Old Preschool Class (Sprouts)

Our new toddler program has been designed to be a warm nurturing environment that provides both the structure and the freedom that allows the students to grow and learn while feeling safe and comfortable. We believe in the ability of children this age to absorb information when presented in a natural and simple way.

Students are given daily opportunities to explore and learn through age appropriate toys, projects, songs, and activities. Children are encouraged to develop language skills as they try to use their words to express their needs and wants and to develop their gross and fine motor skills through projects, manipulatives, and daily outdoor play.

The activities in our Sprouts Classroom are developed to create learning experiences and social experiences through play, projects, and activities.

2-3 Year Old Preschool Class (Caterpillars)

Our Two Year Old Program has been designed to be a nurturing and educationally captivating environment that encourages the children to continue to grow and develop while introducing them to circle time activities including calendar, weather, counting, story time, and songs.

Each unit in the Caterpillar Classroom promotes the development of early learning, listening, and comprehension skills in a natural and age appropriate way.

The projects and activities in this classroom promote taking turns, cooperating, sharing, and expressing feelings in appropriate manner and help foster independence through child centered and teacher directed programing throughout the day.

As a part of our strong curriculum, self-help skills such as eating skills, potty training, hand washing, and independently cleaning up are also among the skills taught in this class.

3-4 Year Old Preschool Class (Butterfly)

Our Three Year Old Program has been designed to be a fun, exciting, and academically stimulating environment that fosters a feeling of independence and confidence in each child and helps strengthen their foundation in learning.

Throughout the year children in our Butterfly Class are encouraged to make choices for themselves, cooperate with others as well as listen and follow directions.

Each unit will have the children working in small and large groups, independently, and one on one with the Morot. The projects and lessons plans are structured in a way that helps promote early langue, math, and science skills in an age appropriate way.  Areas such as hand writing skills, colors, shapes, numbers, and letters are incorporated into the natural flow and day to day structures of the classroom.
